There is a new Hyatt House Hotel opening in New York City in January 2017. I did not know about it until I was looking for stays in NYC and it popped up on the screen – The Hyatt House New York/Chelsea.
It looks like a really nice hotel, and I love staycations so I started looking around on the website for prices and availability. The availability is good and the prices are reasonable by New York City standards, often at or under $200 per night. Unfortunately, I could not find any points and cash rates, but I was able to book a few award stays. Only 8,000 points. And that includes many of the suites. So, I decided to book a few stays.
Only one problem: for every night I made an 8,000 point award booking, Hyatt’s wonderful IT system took out 20,000 to 40,000 points, and some of the reservations have not shown up on my account even though points were taken out. I wanted to make more reservations, but suddenly my points were nearly all depleted – and there were plenty of points in my account this morning. Yikes.
Oh, Hyatt, I’m glad that your hotels are better than your computer systems!
Whatever the case may ultimately be, this is what shows up on the computer screen when I try to make a reservation.
Any plans to visit NYC early next year?
