While in Charlotte, among other things, we ate plenty of BBQ, roamed Freedom Park and toured the home of a former president.
Although I am not religious, when traveling, I enjoy walking into houses of worship, and feeling the history, the aura and the spiritual connection. Congregation Mickve Israel is a synagogue steeped in history.
