I just received an email from the NYC Marathon with interesting news. They have partnered with Airbnb to provide guest housing for the Marathon.
Here’s the text of the mailing:
Connecting the Marathon Community
We’re excited to welcome Airbnb as the newest member of the NYRR and TCS New York City Marathon partner family. Airbnb is an online global community connecting guests with hosts in more than 35,000 cities and 192 countries. Now the worldwide running community will be more connected than ever.
As our Official Community Hospitality Partner, Airbnb is committed to giving an experience of belonging in New York City’s neighborhoods throughout the five boroughs by connecting runners and guests with local hosts, as well as strengthening the local running experience and uniting runners from around the world.
Visiting marathoners and their friends and families will be welcomed by New Yorkers with all the comforts of home, as they are able to stay with New Yorkers anywhere in the five boroughs. Hosts will share their local neighborhood insights with runners and guests, from the coolest running routes to the best spots to grab a bite to eat, and let visitors truly be New Yorkers for the week.
Airbnb will be a big part of race week and race day too, activating their partnership by bringing to life an authentic feeling of home and a unique sense of belonging to the running community and New York City.
