Running Dick’s Sporting Good Pittsburgh Marathon has been on my #MustRun marathon list for a while. The reason is simple – everyone loves it. I’ve read review after review, tweet after tweet, blog after blog, and they are consistently positive. Also, I visited Pittsburgh as a child because I had cousins there, so I’ve always had fond memories. If those reasons weren’t enough, Bart Yasso is always there!
And, so, I decided this was to be my year to run the Pittsburgh Marathon! If all goes according to plan, it will be my 111th marathon and I’m honored to have been chosen as one of the official bloggers for the Pittsburgh Marathon!
I must admit that I don’t always train or run or live according to traditional rules. I travel a lot, in fact I’m a bit of a travel nut. I’ve already been around the world once in 2015 (and, no, I don’t travel for work, I travel for pleasure!). I always bring my running shoes, and do my sightseeing on the run. I have completed marathons in all 50 states, and 6 countries, but I’ve hit the streets and run in so many more. For me, it’s not about speed – it’s about seeing the sights and meeting the people along the way. Do you agree that our passion for distance running is a bit zany and yet rather charming?
What will I receive as an official blogger, in addition to a unique and meaningful experience? I will receive free entry to the marathon, and some marathon gear. I will meet other official bloggers and I’ll meet many other runners. In all, there are 15 official bloggers. Each presents his/her journey from a unique perspective. I am looking forward to following each of their journeys!
Feel free to chime in at any time with questions, answers, thoughts, ideas or information. You are also welcome to follow my Twitter, Instagram and Facebook pages.

One of my training rules is to be flexible so I can travel or get sick or do whatever and not just end up quitting. 🙂
