I really feel like I’ve seen a city when I’m able to run there. It’s not necessary to compete in a marathon or a foot race, I need only lace up by sneakers and run. I like to take in the sights that way, even if I go slowly or for only a few miles or I stop along the way to investigate whatever catches my eye. Of course, safety, terrain and weather are all factors, but in Lima, they all weighed in our favor.
The key when I’m traveling with Won’t Run, is (1) to actually get him out to run, AND (2) to be finished with our run before the breakfast at the hotel ends.
Our run in Lima, Peru – along the Pacific Ocean was glorious. The water is actually quite a bit below the sidewalk, but I was still able to look down and see it, so it counts. There were running routes, and plenty of great scenery! Here are photos of some of the sights we saw as we went for our little run in the Miraflores area of Lima:
And then of course, it was back to the hotel, the Radisson Decapolis Miraflores for a big, beautiful delicious breakfast because . . . we earned it! Yum!
