I received an email from US Airways with its Fall Kickoff Promotion. According to its terms, you can score a Touchdown (i.e., 100% miles bonus) or a Field Goal (50% miles bonus).
Get up to a 100% bonus on all your fall flights*
Register for our Fall Kickoff and complete at least one of the plays below to score bonus miles on your flights through November 17, 2013. Depending on which play you complete, you’ll score a field goal for 50% bonus miles or a touchdown for 100% bonus miles on flights.
Field goal – 50% bonus miles on fall flights
Touchdown – 100% bonus miles on fall flights
I never participated in one of the Grand Slam US Airways promotions, but something tells me that this promotion doesn’t come close to a Grand Slam.
I will be going to Washington, DC and looked into the US Airways shuttle flights, but, at present they are much more expensive than the American or Delta flights, so I probably won’t be flying those (unless I use a companion ticket). For me, I’m most interested in the “touchdown” bonus for the credit card spend. I have one US Airways Mastercard, so if I spend $4000, I’ll get an additional 4000 miles. These are the terms for the Mastercard aspect of the promotion:
US Airways MasterCard or US Airways Visa purchases must occur with a statement date September 30, 2013 – November 30, 2013. In order to qualify for the 50% bonus miles offer, US Airways MasterCard or US Airways Visa cardholders must make purchases (that are not later returned or rescinded) that total at least $2,000 and have a posting date to the cardholder’s Dividend Miles account September 30, 2013 – November 30, 2013. In order to qualify for the 100% bonus miles offer, US Airways MasterCard or US Airways Visa cardholders must make purchases (that are not later returned or rescinded) that total at least $4,000 and have a posting date to the cardholder’s Dividend Miles account between September 30, 2013 and November 30, 2013. If a Dividend Miles member has more than one US Airways credit card, the purchase requirement must be met on an individual US Airways credit card; purchases cannot be combined across multiple US Airways credit cards. Only the primary cardholder is eligible to receive the US Airways flight bonus. To be eligible for this offer, the cardholder’s credit card account must be open and in good standing. Purchases made during periods when the cardholder’s account is delinquent, their balance exceeds their credit line or their account is otherwise not in good standing do not qualify for this offer.
Did you receive this offer? What do you think of it?
