If you didn’t know this already, I am partial to World of Hyatt over all other hotel brands. I often write about the wonderful experiences I’ve had at various World of Hyatt properties around the world. I also write about many of the promotions that Hyatt offers.
Well, my recent four night stay is an example of various promotions converging, resulting in a glorious jackpot of points and free nights.
The stay was at Gild Hall, a Thompson Hotel, NYC (see, HOTEL REVIEW).
The rate was $259 per night, plus taxes. The Qualifying Spend was $1,018.24 USD
Let’s tally this up . . .
Total Points Earned: 13,709!!!
BUT WAIT! I USED MY HYATT CREDIT CARD!
I charged the stay to my Chase World of Hyatt credit card, so I get an extra 4X points. So, roughly, I’ll receive 4,800 additional points (4 X 1,200).
Total Points Earned: 18,500!
BUT WAIT! I EARNED A FREE NIGHT!
The last day of this stay was my 55th night this year, requalifying me for Globalist status for next year and earning a free night at a category 1-7 hotel.
BUT WAIT! I EARNED A SECOND FREE NIGHT!
Hyatt has a special promotion, that when you complete a stay at each five brands of Hyatt hotels, you receive a free night at a category 1-4 hotel. This stay at a Thompson brand hotel qualified as my tenth brand, so I received a free night for that too!
HALLELUJAH, I HIT THE JACKPOT!
More points and more free nights equal more travel! Now you know why I love World of Hyatt so much (and I think they love me a little too)!
