There’s a good Megabus Sale right now for travel in the US.

The schedule is now open to November 15th, and there are many $1 rides available, even on weekends.

Do I really use Megabus, you ask? The answer is yes. Sometimes. I’ve been to Washington, DC, Philadelphia and Providence on Megabus and all of the trips have been fine.

There are two weekends that I am going to Washington, DC in the fall. I haven’t booked my flights or trains yet, so I booked speculatively with Megabus. With the service charge, it cost only $9 for four one-way tickets. At that price, if I use them, I use them, if I don’t, it’s no big deal.

Note: when I was searching the website (which is wonky at best), the $1 tickets only showed up when I was searching for at ticket for one passenger (not two).

A lot of the Megabus stops are at college campus towns, so this is good for students (and parents) too.
