What the Hell is a MegaDo?

The other day I got this email from the Grand Poobah of the points and miles community, Randy Petersen.  The email is appropriately titled:

This is a Pre-Boarding Announcement.

The email went on to say:

The waiting is almost over.

Starting on Sunday, November 11, nearly 100 frequent flyers will board LH#457 headed for Frankfurt and the start of the SMD4. A short visit to Zurich and then it’s time to return to San Francisco for the official charter flight for this MegaDO (200 passengers strong) heading to Houston and then Chicago. There will definitely be some eyebrows raised when all the programs are announced and completed. Your best source for following this MegaDO will be the MegaDO blog HERE. 

As well, if you particpate on Twitter, the official hashtag is #SMD4.

 Assuming I finish packing and I don’t miss the flight, I am going on this crazy trip (actually, I am only going on the domestic portion). Still, that’s California, Texas and Illinois in three days.  It will be a blast.  Is this travelers on steroids? Perhaps, yes. But for my runner friends reading this, think of it as the “Maniacs” of the travel community.  I think you get what I mean.
