Have you ever wondered about the sometimes odd selection of TV programs at public locations such as airports, waiting rooms, gyms, hotel lobbies and even in airplanes? And, beyond that, who chooses which shows air at these various locations? Enter UPshow TV.
UPshow TV claims to offer businesses the choice to make similar cord-cutting decisions as consumers (cutting the cord is the term used to refer to individual consumers who choose to go without pay TV). UPshow TV invites businesses to abandon traditional pay TV services in lieu of a more customizable platform. The UPshow TV platform is designed to provide an interactive, customized and cost-effective entertainment alternative to paying higher fees for a gazillion unwanted traditional cable/satellite TV channels.
Ahh, so they choose what we watch?
Hotels such as Hampton Inn Chicago and Hyatt Regency Scottsdale among others are using UPshow TV’s platform. Other customers include medical waiting rooms, health clubs, office reception areas, automotive lobbies, retail and more. In fact UPshow powers Social TV on more than 7,000 screens across the country, with key partners, such as TGI Friday’s, Crunch Fitness, Hooters, Navy Pier, ATI Physical Therapy.
So what do you think? Is this actually entertainment or comparable to background music? Do you prefer the pre-progammed TV on a screen or would you prefer to grab the remote and put on the news or a football game?
