Aloft Hotels and Universal Music Group Launch ‘Project: Aloft Star’ Tour
The venue was designed to look like the lobby, bar and music venue of an Aloft Hotel.

With this very cool augmented reality tool, I could see an Aloft Hotel bus circling around my drink to each city with a scheduled concert music stop!
Bridget M. Higgins, Sr. Director of Aloft Hotels, Marriott International, Inc., welcomed the audience to the event and described Project: Aloft Star in detail. UMG’s LJ Gutierrez said UMG is committed to Project ALOFT to invest in talent and help musicians get their break in the music industry.
And then we were treated to a musical live concert performance by the artist Banners.

The band, the X Ambassadors, known best for the song Renegades, were also in attendance. They will mentor the Project Aloft Star musical contestants and finalists.
At the end of the evening I got a cool metallic fanny pack, which is perfect for concerts, right? (I guess fanny packs are back in vogue again!) (WHAT, no more fanny pack jokes?).
Project: Aloft Star Americas Contest Details:
– Starting June 12 until August 20, unsigned bands and artists across North America and in select countries in Latin America, are invited to upload up to two original songs (in video or audio format) along with a photo through alofthotels.com for consideration by a panel of judges from UMG, Aloft Hotels and live music discovery platform Bandsintown.
– The panel will select three finalists to progress to Phase II of the competition where the finalists will receive a mentoring session from X Ambassadors.
– From September 17 through October 22, fans and music lovers are encouraged to vote for their favorite of the artists.
– All three finalists will perform at the Project: Aloft Star finale at Aloft Austin Downtown on November 1.
