When I first started traveling internationally, I flew on TWA quite a bit. For a while, they had weekly weekend fares to different European cities for $250 RT. I jumped on a few of those. Then, when I lived in the Netherlands, I attained status on Northwest Airlines (although sometimes I’d snag a cheap flight home to New York on Pakistan International Airlines). Northwest then became Delta, and that was my airline for quite a few years, until it became harder and harder to remain an elite frequent flyer who only traveled for leisure.
Although I never missed Delta’s shenanigans, I always missed flying on Delta flights. Recently, Delta has been offering various award specials that I’ve jumped on.
Delta has now introduced SkyMiles Deals – offering special reduced awards (on a round trip basis) on various listed routes. The SkyMiles Deals changes weekly.

Here are some of this week’s SkyMiles Deals, which are divided into the following categories (and each have their own travel dates): Domestic | Latin America-Caribbean |Seoul| Australia | Europe.
Domestic awards begin at 11,000 miles rt plus taxes and fees, Latin American -Caribbean awards begin at 14,000 miles (JFK-MEX!!!) rt plus taxes and fees, Seoul awards start at 50,000 miles rt plus taxes and fees, Australia awards begin at 48,000 miles plus taxes and fees (OH, IF ONLY THAT WORKED INTO MY SCHEDULE!!!), AND Europe awards, for early winter travel, begin at 26,000 miles (JFK to Brussels or Zurich) plus taxes and fees.
All of these deals must be booked by September 12, 2018.
These are phenomenal awards if (a) they fit into your schedule, and (b) you don’t mind sitting in economy (I don’t mind!). Remember to read all of the fine print.
If you’re interested, hop to it.
