Hyatt and Dreamscape Companies announced plans to bring multiple Hyatt full-service brand offerings to Las Vegas, following a multi-phase renovation of the existing Rio Las Vegas. The Rio was formerly part of the Caesars group of hotels.
The more than 2,510-room Rio will be renovated and rebranded into multiple Hyatt full-service brand flags, and will undergo a redevelopment of the current public spaces, including gaming, retail, food and beverage, spa and fitness, and pool recreation deck. In addition, the Rio Las Vegas will undergo a renovation of one of the hotel’s existing towers, and upon completion, the tower is expected to become a 1,501-room Hyatt Regency.
The announcement stated that this development project does not impact World of Hyatt’s existing strategic loyalty alliance with MGM.
Hyatt has not yet released information on what category this new hotel will be or what other Hyatt-branded or affiliated hotels are in the works with Dreamscape Companies. Nor does Hyatt have any redevelopment renderings available yet.
Hyatt promises that the new Hyatt Regency Las Vegas and related properties will be far nicer than the Rio Las Vegas was. From what I understand, that’s not difficult.
