I recently stayed at the Hilton Doubletree Hotel in Agra, India.
Running outdoors was not an option, so I decided to work out at the gym.
Getting to the fitness center was a little difficult – I had to go down one elevator, then outside past the pool, then re-enter another door. The pool actually looked quite nice, and, if it wasn’t dark or foggy, you could see the Taj Mahal in the distance.
The fitness center was on the small side, a room off a hallway. It had a glass window and a mirrored wall, so I didn’t feel closed in.
The equipment was new and adequate. The room was clean.
But here’s the oddest part: I was the only one in the room, except there was an employee who entered the room and stood there, on guard, at attention, hands folded, watching over me the entire time I was running on the treadmill. I know this might be a security benefit, but it was extremely disconcerting. If you look to the left of this photo, you can see him standing there.
It reminds me of this song!

So someone or perhaps some camera saw you enter the gym and then sent the guy? That’s seems a bit creepy but understandable if they worry about guests” safety inside the hotel. I’d have been disconcerted too. Bet he was impressed by how many miles you did 🙂 !
