As discussed in this post, I used Delta SkyMiles to fly business class from New York to Luxembourg for the ING Night Marathon. The first leg of the trip was EWR-AMS on Delta One.
The second leg of the trip was on a KLM CityHopper from AMS to Luxembourg. The plane was a Fokker 70. Here’s my Fokker:
The business class area was the same as coach, except every other seat was left intentionally open. I found this rather funny.
We were given a cute mini shopping bag with a croissant and orange juice (I traded my juice for mini can of soda).
The flight was only 40 minutes, barely enough time to drink the soda. I’m a window-gazer (if there’s such a term)! The aerial views and landing into Luxembourg were quite pretty.
And here’s the airport. I guess there’s not much going on there at 10 a.m.?
From the airport, I took a public bus to Luxembourg City. It was easy and cost only €2, as opposed to €20 or €25 for a taxi. Knowing I had to go to the Marathon Expo later that day (at a convention center back near the airport), I bought an unlimited one day bus ticket for €4.

You were lucky to catch a Fokker, they’re quickly being replaced by E-jets on Cityhopper routes. I miss them (BRS is all E-jet now).
