Hi Kathy,
Today, KLM starts weekly flights from John F. Kennedy Airport in New York to Amsterdam Airport Schiphol using sustainable biofuel. Flight KL642 is operated by a Boeing 777-200 every Thursday.
This series of flights partially powered by biofuel recovered from used cooking oil is another step in demonstrating greater proof of KLM’s pioneering role in sustainable flight.KLM has been working with the World Wide Fund for Nature in the Netherlands (WWF-NL) since 2007. The cooperation aims to stimulate a more sustainable airline industry by lowering carbon dioxide emissions, increasing fuel efficiency and investing in innovations such as sustainable biofuel.

Well, I may be intelligent, but admittedly, I am not knowledgeable about issues such as aeronautics, biofuel and the like. Still, I had to laugh, when I imagined that the the cooking oil from my frying pan might be fueling a flight from Amsterdam to New York! Moo Shu Plane?
