You just never know where you’ll end up when you go for a run in New York City, and today was no exception. Let me preface by saying that it is Fashion Week, and there are often many fun events during Fashion Week.
The Beauty Bus NYC |
So, this morning as I was getting ready to go for a run, I read that there was something called the Hair Room Service Beauty Bus. I read further. The “Beauty Bus” is a glass truck outfitted with styling chairs, mirrors, and beauty product must-haves, and that it would be parked on the Upper West Side of Manhattan offering free professional makeup applications, hairstyling, and manicures!
The bus was “powered” by a company called Hair Room Service. Hair Room Service is a celebrity stylist service, founded by Michael Duenas, that offers in-room styling services at their clients’ homes, hotels, offices, etc. Their roster contains a long list of celebrity clients. And they were offering free mobile makeover experiences right on Broadway in a bus!! what could be cooler?

So… I only ran a few miles today. I exited Central Park near Lincoln Center and found the Beauty Bus. The employees couldn’t be nicer. I was 14 on the line, and had to wait about an hour, but it was worth every moment!

In the end, I had my nails done, my hair styled in some sort of lovely “up-do” by Matthew, and makeup applied by a makeup artist.
manicures galore |

What a fun day, and what a dynamite group of people.
And there were freebies gifts – some makeup products by NYX Cosmetics (“to bring the trends from the runways to the streets”), a hair product by Schwarzkopf, and some self-tanning lotions by Fake Bake.
So, I might not have run too much today, but I had a blast. What will tomorrow bring?

Love this…how fun and random! Think I need to schedule a Fashion Week NYC visit with the kids. We went for the first time in Feb and Deal Kid (a 9 year old boy) was most excited to visit Mood from Project Runway.
