Beginning today, Air New Zealand will fly non-stop from New York JFK to Auckland and vice-versa, and to celebrate this, Air New Zealand created a pop-up immersive event yesterday in Hudson Yards, NYC called Visit Tomorrow.
The flights will run three times per week on Boeing 787s and will take about 17 hours.
The Visit Tomorrow event included an immersive panoramic journey covering the beautiful and diverse scenery of New Zealand.
Many Air New Zealand employees and flight attendants were there too.
Coffee, um, I mean flat whites, were served, as were delicious Whittakers chocolates!
And what would be a New Zealand event without a kiwi?
Air New Zealand is very excited to introduce bunkbeds in economy, for an additional price, called Skynest.
The highlight of the event, in my opinion was the performance by a Māori troupe:
Their dancing and singing was spectacular! They also performed a Haka, a ceremonial war dance exhibiting the indigenous tribe’s pride, strength and unity.
Three years ago, I visited New Zealand – my flights were on Air New Zealand. This was such a great and memorable trip – I can’t want to return and see more of this beautiful country. See, Our 21,996 Mile Trip to New Zealand and Australia.
I wish I was on the inaugural flight today!
