Austrian Airlines, a member of the Star Alliance, hit the streets of New York City today with a Pop-up event to showcase it’s truly comfy Premium Economy Class seating and product. The event was held at Union Square and I was curious, so I hopped on the subway at lunch time.
There was a small area, with signs and a little game with for participants to play. The questions ranged from trivia about Austria to details of the Premium Economy product itself.
The area was made to look like an Austrian cafe and there were flight attendants on site dressed in pretty bright red uniforms.
There were prizes for the contestants. A winner got a gift bag with a red Austrian Airlines cup and saucer. A runner-up got an red checked amenity kit (which I assume is akin to the kit distributed to Premium Economy passengers).
It was fun, but honestly I expected to see a sample of the Premium Economy seats, and perhaps be given the opportunity to sit down and actually experience the truly comfy seat.
You can play the game online daily for a chance to win a Premium Economy Class tickets to Vienna.
