The ying and the yang: an ugly jogging map for a fabulous run is better than a fabulous map for an ugly run, right?
The Kaua’i Marriott Resort in the town of Lihue is stunning! I did not stay here, but I visited here.
On two mornings during my stay in Lihue, I ran on and around the grounds of the Marriott and on surrounding streets as well as near the neighboring golf course (pedestrians were not allowed near parts of the golf course). This is the map from the Marriott, but it does not do it justice.
The map is just a guide, but you must imagine (or better yet, see for yourself) the lure of the ocean, the lush green roads, the blue pools, the serene zen statues, and so on.
I loved this weather forecast sign:
Each day, my run was about 4 miles. It was easy to accomplish this on the paths and streets – and the beauty was the sort that made me gasp. And it wasn’t just the run that was spectacular, it was the entire resort. Although I did not see the rooms other than on the website, I am certain that they are lovely. I would definitely stay here on another visit to Kauai.
Here are some random photos from my run:

Oh HAWAII!!
Great photos and a great place to go for any occasion.
I used to visit that island (and hotel) when I lived on the Big Island (Hawaii) I took my future wife for a getaway there on Valentines Day 2007! Love it!
It does look like an easy place to go for a weekend escape from other Hawaiian islands as its close to the airport. Very pretty property.
