This is a Great giveaway, and just in time for the Olympic Marathons this weekend ~~ The new Runner’s World book – the Big Book of Marathon and Half Marathon Training, written by the most respected names in the running community: Jennifer Van Allen, Bart Yasso and Amby Burfoot!
Described as the ultimate handbook for every runner of every level, this is the book to have. I have one book to give away, thanks to the fabulous authors and people at Rodale, Inc.
To enter the contest, simply:
1. leave information in the comments below – with your name and an email to contact you at in the event you win. Also state something about Marathoning or Half-Marathoning, such as the last marathon you ran, the next race you are running, the number of marathons you’ve run, your goals, your reasons, why you like half-marathons, whether you like red or white wine, etc. The drawing is random, so you need not give the fanciest or best answer, but it certainly is fun to share comments. (In case you are curious, my next marathon is the Tupelo Marathon in Mississipi over Labor Day Weekend, followed by the Montreal Marathon in late September.)
2. in twitter, please tweet something like: “enter to win @runnersworld Big Book of Marathon Training at www.willrunformiles.com @katruns26point2″ (If you don’t have twitter, perhaps you can write the equivalent on your facebook page, as the point is to get word out about this blog and this contest).
The winner will be selected at random AFTER comments from 100 people have been posted here.
Thank you so much for visiting this page ~~ run happy and healthy, and I hope you win.

I”m running my first marathon in less than 40 days. I’m nervous/excited/terrified. Am I crazy to be dreaming of future marathons when I haven’t even completed my first? Probably. But, as I told my Zumba class today, running is a sickness that I’m glad I have!

I’ve run six half marathons, but I just started running five years ago (starting out with one measly mile). My last half was the Door County Half Marathon in May: lovely scenery, well organized, and nice weather.

I hope I get to meet some of your friends in Tupelo. I’m flying in and out of Memphis and still undecided whether to split my time between Memphis and Tupelo, or spend two nights in Tupelo.

On New Year’s Day 2008 I decided I wanted to begin running. I completed several 5k’s & 10k’s. In 2009 I completed the same races and was able to beat my previous chip times. I wanted to complete my first half marathon & came across a website Twenty Six Two. I applied for free marathon training & was accepted as one of the dozen that are chosen every year! And so training began fall of 2009. I completed my 1st half marathon Oct 2009 & completed my 1st full marathon Feb 14, 2010.
I am now a Coach for Twenty Six Two Marathon Club.
All I can say is “never say never”.
So far I have completed 1 marathon relay, 7 half marathons and 4 full marathons.
Thanks for having this contest!!! I shared this via g+, liked facebook & twitter.
