This is breaking news, or at least it is to me. I first learned of it this morning after reading this post by Chasing the Points.
One of the great benefits of having a business American Express Card has been the OPEN Network of Savings, which gives a 5% discount as a credit on Hyatt charges when using an American Express Business Card with OPEN.
However, now the Hyatt website says this:
Effective January 1, 2016, Hyatt Hotels & Resorts®, including Park Hyatt®, Andaz®, Grand Hyatt®, and Hyatt Regency® hotels, will no longer be part of the OPEN Savings program. Any amounts that are charged to your Card account by this merchant on or after this date will not be eligible for the OPEN Savings benefit.
Guess who’s going to be stocking up on HYATT Gift cards?

It really is getting hard for me to keep the Platinum. Ugh!

Umm..who cares? Why are all the bloggers getting their panties in a bunch over this? You were getting a slight discount by staying in a grossly overpriced (usually) chain hotel. At least abroad I have always been able to find much cheaper and equally nice local hotels or airbnb apartments.

what panties?

Agreed. No panties, no bunch. However, it is challenging my justification of the DL Reserve Business card. Decisions, decisions. Grrr.
