I returned home from Mexico City this week.
As was the case with my recent travels to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (and the construction of the new Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur there), people who knew that I was visiting Mexico City, continually asked about the progress of the construction of the new Park Hyatt Mexico City. Interestingly, both Kuala Lumpur and Mexico City have great Hyatt hotels, but everyone somehow wants more and better. So, while I may have a hard time imagining what could be better than the Andaz Mexico City Condesa (review to follow soon) or the Hyatt Regency Mexico City (review for my third visit to follow soon), people want what people want, and I’m certain that the Park Hyatt Mexico City will live up to people’s expectations and beyond.
This is primarily a compilation of photos and a video from above and around the construction. I did ask for a personal tour of the construction site, but my request was denied because it IS a construction site (duh…).
I was surprised to learn that the future Park Hyatt is literally right next to the Hyatt Regency.
From the Presidential Suite on the 43rd floor of the Hyatt Regency, we could watch the workers and see the cranes hauling materials up to the top of the structure.
The construction was so close to our suite, we’d jump a bit when the beams came barreling up. However, although the Hyatt Regency is so close to the construction, the sound was minimal and definitely not distracting.
The aerial photos and videos below were taken from either the Regency Club on the 40th floor of the Hyatt Regency or from our suite on the 43rd floor of the hotel (obviously, I zoomed in on some of the shots). (The workers definitely deserve kudos for the work they do).
From the photos and videos up high it looks like there is a lot of work to be done.
However, the photos from below show just how much progress has already been done.
When will the Park Hyatt Mexico city be completed? Though no one would give an exact date the general consensus is sometime near the second to third quarter of 2026. (Please invite me!)
Here’s a video I shot from the Regency Club next door:
Here’s a final shot, from across the street:
