We all know that donating blood is an admirable thing to do. It’s a nice way to make a difference and possibly help save a life.

According to the American Red Cross, right now, there is an emergency need for blood donations.

Due to this urgent need for blood, if you donate between July 30 and Aug. 30, American Red Cross will send you a $5 Amazon.com Gift Card via email.

THEN AGAIN, YOU COULD SELL YOUR BLOOD

But, what if you want to really earn money selling your blood? Well, apparently you can make in the realm of $50 per donation.

For a list of blood plasma donation centers, go to DonatingPlasma.org.

At least one such organisation, OctaPharma Plasma, will pay new donors a bonus of $250 if they donate during the month of August. OctaParma is interesting, with special debit cards and loyalty programs. There is even a special page for bonus prizes and promotions. (what’s next? A plasma shopping portal?)

(Note: I am not advocating selling blood. In fact, I have never known anyone to do this and personally, I’m scared of blood)
