This is the third of three posts on a quick trip to Düsseldorf, Germany (see, Hotel Review – Hyatt Regency Düsseldorf and Hyatt Regency Düsseldorf Fitness Center).
I left the hotel on foot for a little morning run/jog/walk/stroll. I hit the MedienHafen to see first hand the harbor architecture designed by world-renowned architects such as Frank O. Gehry, David Chipperfield, Joe Coenen, Steven Holl and Claude Vasconithe. My favorites are the new ‘Zollhof’ by Frank O. Gehry and the Roggendorf Haus covered with 29 whimsical plastic climbing men.
Although it was nearly summer, it was a cool day and it was fairly early in the morning, so there was a certain quiet to my jog around Düsseldorf.
Eventually, I came to the more traditional section of Dusseldorf, where I wove up and down the streets for a while taking in the scenery.
I really enjoyed seeing the sights, the buildings, the statues and ambiance of Düsseldorf. I kind of wished I had another day so I could see more, but this was an absolutely excellent start.
