Per Mile Nerd and Travel and Leisure, airlines are giving bonus miles if you contribute to Harvey Relief charities through their shopping portals. Right now, only American Airlines and United Airlines are on board, but I wouldn’t be surprised if other airlines chimed in.
American Airlines is offering 10 AAdvantage Miles per dollar ($25 dollar minimum) for donations to Red Cross.
United Airlines offers a choice of 5 charities. The bonus structure is a bit convoluted. See the Terms and Conditions.
I’m happy airlines are contributing to the disaster relief and encouraging their loyalty members to make donations. I hope more airlines and businesses join in with comparable humanitarian efforts.
