Whenever I travel, I really enjoy visiting local markets such as the Mercado de San Miguel, just off the Plaza Mayor in Madrid, or the Mercat de La Boqueria, right on La Rambla in Barcelona!
These are not simple markets (though I love those too), but are instead glorious culinary delights, where you can purchase and sample plates from some of the top local restaurants, grab a glass of wine, and enjoy it in a beautiful setting (great for people watching too!).
When we went to Lisbon last year, we went to Time Out Market, and had the best time! (see, Day One – Lisbon Portugal – New Friends, A Walking Tour, a Foray through the Alfama District and Dinner at TimeOut).
I was thrilled today to learn that Time Out is opening a Time Out Market in New York City! (see, Time Out Market New York brings epic food and skyline views to Dumbo).
This is foodie fun heaven huge! 21,000 square feet to be exact! The two-story market, which is scheduled to open later this year, will be in Brooklyn’s Dumbo area, at 55 Water Street. In addition to restaurants and eating areas, it will also have three bars, an outdoor rooftop area with views of the Brooklyn Bridge and the Manhattan skyline!
You’ll eat meals from award-winning chefs, sip on refreshing cocktails, and take in breathtaking waterfront views and artistic performances all in one place.

Feeling hungry and not sure what you want? No worries: The market will have 20 eats to choose from, plus three bars, a stage for performances and exhibition space.
I can’t wait for it to open!! This is part of a global launch by Time Out to additionally include Time Out Markets in Miami, Boston, Chicago.
