40 cents, not bad!
Though I am thankful for this Courtesy Credit, I have no idea why it appeared in my account. Do Courtesy Credits just spring up? Is there a transaction that triggers these? And, more importantly, how can I get more of these?
You might as well check your Amazon account and see if you have a Courtesy Credit too. Let me know.

If you’ve contacted customer service recently for a mistake or bad experience, the CS rep will sometimes offer you a credit, though they usually would tell you so.

I don’t recall contacting CS

I was once given a $10 Amazon credit from ZocDoc because the doctor I booked online cancelled last minute. Maybe it was something like that. (btw.. what was the title of the book?)
Will Run For Miles says
It was a photography book on the Sony A6000

Same confusing courtesy credits here. I knew I had $10 because of a problem but when I decided to use it there were two more. I ended up with a total of $25. It was very helpful but also, huh? Still don’t know why. Could use insight.

it’s so nice when these irregularities work in our favor instead of the opposite.

Yea, it was wild! I ordered a couple things today, when I ordered clothes I would get a courtesy credit. One of my items ended up being completely free because of the credit.
The other items were charged full price minus the promos
