Heading to Toronto for TBEX!

In case you’re wondering where in the world…..  Dora the Explorer Matt Lauer Kathy will be this weekend, I will be at a conference of travel bloggers, called TBEX, in Toronto, Canada.

I’ve never been to any of the TBEX events, but all of the people I’ve spoken to tell me how fabulous they are.  (The fact that their eyes glaze over when talking about TBEX is of no moment, is it?)  I’m looking forward to meeting many people: learning from them and sharing and networking with them. I’m told that many participants arrive days early and leave days later for various pre- and post- events, but I figured I’d start conservatively and just go for the weekend events (interpretation:  I’ll be there for the parties).

In addition to the events parties events, I’m looking forward to seeing Toronto again – its been quite a few years since I’ve been there (hint: I was there back when I was an associate at a firm that represented a little known Canadian who’s first name is Garth) (no, not Garth Brooks…. Garth Drabinsky, but looks like he’s hanging out in other places these days….). But, I digress.

For someone who’s never attended one of these gigs, it all seems rather overwhelming.  Here’s the Newbie’s Guide to attending a TBEX.  I glanced at it, and realized there’s lots of jargon and secret handshakes I don’t know yet!

Here’s the Schedule – again, a little overwhelming, but lots of great topics to be covered.  If the schedule is too much, here’s the Ultimate Guide to TBEX 2013 in Toronto.  
Somehow, I wouldn’t be surprised if I didn’t find a Really Ultimate Guide to the Ultimate Guide, and a Really, Really Ultimate Guide to the Really Ultimate Guide, and so on and so on.  Some things just work that way.

I hope to check back in and share some of the information I glean and gifts I receive along the way. Because, its probably ABOOT that too!
