I’m not Christian, but having family that lives all over the country means that we get together yearly at Christmastime- when schools and businesses are closed. I grew up in a suburb of New York, on Long Island, in the home where my parents still live.
The home has become too large for my parents, now in their mid 80’s, but it is not large enough for the cacophony of our family at Christmas.
There’s my sister, her husband and their teenage daughter from San Francisco, another sister and her teenage daughter from Boston (and their Javanese dog, Mallo) and my brother, his wife and their elementary school aged son and daughter from Scottsdale. Not that it isn’t wonderful to see everyone, but that’s a lot of people and a lot of personalities for one house.
So Won’t Run and I gave ourselves a nice Christmas present: PEACE! We chose to stay at a nearby Hyatt Place and boy are we happy we did! Actually we each won free stay certificates from a Hyatt Place Twitter contest earlier this year. So, thank you Hyatt for this gift and being with me all year.
And to all – hope you have great and healthy and happy holidays and every day! I keep meeting so many wonderful people- my friends are many- I am so lucky and thankful!
Keep Smiling, Keep Running, Keep Traveling!
