Chase and Hyatt Hotels Corporation have launched the first Hyatt Business Credit card – – World of Hyatt Business Credit Card. This credit card features an adaptive rewards accelerator that allows cardmembers to earn double World of Hyatt points per quarter on various categories. The price is $199 per year.
I attended the launch event with World of Hyatt and Chase representatives at the Andaz 5th Avenue yesterday morning – and had the opportunity to meet and hear the presentation by Ed Olebe (President of Co-Branded Cards, Chase) and Amy Weinberg (Sen

In addition, Cardmembers who apply by Dec. 31, 2021, can receive a complimentary one-year Headspace subscription (valued at $69.99 per year); Headspace subscription must be redeemed by Dec. 31, 2022. In fact, meeting began with a short Headspace meditation.
During the presentation, a lot of emphasis was devoted to (1) the Adaptive accelerator concept, which automatically gives extra points each quarter in the categories where the user spends the most (the top 3 categories the first year, then the top 2 after that), and (2) a user who spends $50,000 or more on the card in a calendar year will receive 10% of redeemed points back as Bonus Points for the remainder of the calendar year. The presenters also emphasized that the benefits of this card are cumulative with other promotions offered by World of Hyatt, so the benefits can be even greater than listed above.
Who is the Hyatt Business Card best suited for? I’d say it is best for users who have large spends and who redeem a lot of points for stays. Will you get this card? What are your thoughts?
At the meeting, we were also introduced to the Hyatt Loves Local program, and got to meet four businesses that are participating in it.
We were also treated to breakfast:
If you would like to apply for either the Hyatt Business Card or the Hyatt Personal Card, this is my referral link. Thank you!

The 10% rebate on points is just…weird. I wish there were a way for it to roll from year to year, so that if you spend $50K every year, you get 10% back on every award stay regardless of when in the calendar year you book it. My business won’t hit $50K on this card until at least May, so I’ve got a dead period of Jan-May every year when I wouldn’t want to make award bookings.
Will Run For Miles says
it get’s worse. The Bonus is capped at 20K points.
Christian says
It’s not bad but not great either.
Mike Saint says
Not bad?? No free annual night like the personal card. And the bonus (one saving grace of the card) is capped at 20k points. This doesn’t sound like it’s worth it.
WRFM – Question. A question with the following:
“Earn $100 in Hyatt credit each anniversary year: Spend $50 or more at any Hyatt property and earn $50 in statement credits up to two times each anniversary year”
So if I get the card now I will get $100 for 2021 and $100 for 2022?
That will at least getting it in 2021 worth it if you get the $100 for this year and 2022 which will at least absorb the annual fee.
