No, I didn’t run the NYC Marathon, but this past week I was consumed with marathon-related events as well as spectating friends and strangers run the marathon yesterday. I saw some friends, and some even heard my screams to them over the music of the band playing 80’s music across the street. As the steady drizzle turned even more drizzly, I went to my apartment and filled bags with shirts and heat blankets I’d collected from prior marathons – and gave them to runners who were cold. I am convinced it is harder to spectate than it is to run! And how about Shalane and Meb?! Wow, and congrats to both of them.

Just wanted to say … Thanks for supporting us! I ran yesterday.. Not the best weather, not the worst…I think its harder on the spectators – Running in that kind of weather, you just kinda go with the flow… The drizzle was annoying but refreshing at the same time – Wasn’t nearly as bad as boston 3 years ago where it downpoured the entire marathon
