Lisa, the Star of Delta’s Safety Video

You know the scenario.  The door is now closed. You are reminded to turn off all electronics, and to turn your attention to the safety video.  I actually watch the Delta safety video which was rolled out a few months ago –  I think its so clever and entertaining.

 
The TV monitor was over the top of aisle at the first of the Economy rows.  A flight attendant was standing beneath the TV as the video began with greetings and salutations from Delta’s CEO.  Then, the screen turns to a flight attendant who, with a warm smile, narrates the very funny safety video.

 I looked up at the screen. I looked at the flight attendant standing below the TV.  I looked up at the screen.  I looked at the flight attendant. I rubbed my eyes. Could it be the same person?

I motioned to the flight attendant – pointing with my finger to her and the screen.  “Is that YOU?,” I mouthed.  She smiled and nodded yes!

We had a chance to speak. Her name is Lisa. She is as pretty and warm in person as she is in the video.  She told me that she is based in Seattle.  I asked her to tell me a little about the video, specifically how did it happen?  She told me that she was approached and asked to audition for the video.  She did, and the rest is history.  We would have talked longer, but turbulence began and I had to return to my seat.
