Maximize the Fairway AMEX Offer to 33% Off!

Yesterday, I posted two new AMEX offers that are available via Twitter sync: Home Depot and Whole Foods Market.

There are a few other AMEX offers that are interesting to New Yorkers and those in the Tri-state region that are available online at americanexpress.com, i.e., Gracie’s Marketplace and Fairway Market. The offer for both of these are: spend $75, get $15 back.

Maximizing the Fairway Market Offer – Spin the Wheel of Shrimp!

There’s an online contest right now on the Fairway website called Spin the Wheel of Shrimp! (hey, I don’t make these names up!).

Once you click on the Wheel of Shrimp, it will ask you for your mobile phone number and to select which store you shop at.  A few minutes later, you’ll receive a text message, and an opportunity to spin the Wheel of Shrimp.

I spun it, and I “won” a coupon for $15 off $80 (expires May 23, 2015).  The coupon was promptly texted to me.

So, if I were to register for the AMEX Fairway offer, then go to Fairway and make a purchase of $90, I would get $15 off per the “Wheel of Shrimp” coupon, bringing the charge down to $75.  I would also get $15 back per the AMEX offer.

Thus, I will get $30 off of $90, rather than $15 off of $75, or a savings of 33%.  (Note that the Fairway coupon says it cannot be used on gift cards or alcoholic beverages).
