You might have already heard, or you might not have heard, or you might have heard and forgotten….
but this Saturday, September 29, 2012 is Museum Day!
The event is sponsored by Smithsonian Museums:
In the spirit of Smithsonian Museums, who offer free admission everyday, Museum Day Live! is an annual event hosted by Smithsonian magazine in which participating museums across the country open their doors to anyone presenting a Museum Day Ticket…for free.
You must register for this event and choose from the list of participating museums. One free ticket, good for two persons, will be issued.

Whenever I visit a museum, I am reminded of how much I enjoy going to museums and how I’d like to go to museums more often. Just yesterday, Won’t Run For Miles and I went to the Brooklyn Museum with Won’t Run’s daughter who needed to visit the museum for a college assignment regarding identification of gender issues in Asian, Islamic and Egyptian Art.
I like to take advantage of events such as this – especially to visit a museum that would otherwise charge a hefty fee. I haven’t decided which museum I will visit yet. Do you have any suggestions for museums in the New York City vicinity?

Update: I decided that I will go to the Museum of Art and Design. I’ve never been there, but have heard nice things about it.

We’re doing this in our city too!
