This is a great opportunity to status match your elite frequent flyer status to LATAM Airlines’ LATAM Pass!
Today LATAM Airlines launched a new status match opportunity which is available to residents of USA & Chile who hold elite status with an eligible airline.
Specifically, LATAM’s frequent flyer program LATAM Pass, has launched this campaign for US and Chilean travelers to match their elite status from other loyalty programs with equivalent LATAM Pass categories: Gold, Gold Plus, Platinum and Black. LATAM was a member of One World Alliance for many years, but is not currently a member of any alliance. It does have codeshares with many airlines.
If matched, the new status will be in effect until March 31, 2023.
The benefits of the program include priority check-in and boarding, additional baggage, and access to one of the five LATAM Lounges (depending on the approved category).
Here is a list of all of the eligible airline and tier matches (https://latam.statusmatch.com/
To apply, (1) if you don’t already have a LATAM Pass account, sign up for one here, (2) log on to the status match cite, complete the online application, and (3) send the required information, including their LATAM Pass membership number, the Elite card of the frequent flyer program of origin, and some proof of their status in the program. Note that the application and processing fee for USA and Chile residents is USD$39.00
You should receive a response to the application within three (3) business days of the request. Once notified, your status will be reflected in the LATAM Pass program within six (6) business days.
The website states that the campaign ends on October 31, 2022, but provides that LATAM reserves the right to end or change the campaign before this date. I therefore recommend that, if you want to apply for a status match, that you do so soon and not wait till the end of the campaign period.
