Hey, did you happen to see the AFAR Magazine post – 5 UNESCO World Heritage Sites With Incredible Street Art? From Curacao to Malaysia to Panama to Belgium and Chile, there is fabulous street art!
Well, Playa del Carmen may not (yet) be a UNESCO World Heritage site, but I think that the street art there is pretty fabulous (and right up there with the art in the above UNESCO locations).
I visited Playa del Carmen two years ago and posted photos of street art I saw while I was out running and walking around ( see, Street Art (Part 1) – Playa Del Carmen, Mexico and Street Art (Part 2) and Palapas – Playa Del Carmen, Mexico).
On my trip this past week, I was blown away by the quality, diversity, vibrancy and sheer amount of street art I saw. There was even a full street where nearly every building was painted! I have so many photos to share! (note: If you know any of the artists’ names, feel free to comment, and I’ll add a tag).
And without further adieu here are some of my favorites:
By the way, when I’m not traveling, I’m often walking around the streets of New York City checking out the amazing street art here. I frequently share street art photos on my INSTAGRAM ACCOUNT, Katstarr_. Feel free to follow along!
