In this post, I wrote about my own September 11th experience. Last night, at 10 p.m., I visited the 9/11 Memorial Museum at Ground Zero in New York City.
The museum will be open to the public next week – right now it is open by appointment to people such as first responders and family members of victims.
Without words here are some photos I took.

Wow!!!
Please post your thoughts on the visit.
You should make an audio recording now to remember your feelings going last night.
NYC Strong!!

Thanks for sharing these. So sobering. We’ll be back east in Sept. and I will look into getting tickets so we can go.
While I purposely avoid comparisons involving WW2, the feeling I had in the pit of my stomach just clicking on a Twitter link to your post reminded me of how I felt when I walked reluctantly up the hill on a hot and sunny day to enter the Holocaust Museum in Jerusalem. That queasiness remains with me after looking at these photos. I now need to see the exhibit for myself.
I hope some survivors and the relatives/friends/colleague of some victims will find the memorial comforting, but I expect many will not. Still, we as a society must memorialize as a way to honor, remember and just, perhaps, help prevent such tragedies in the future.
I know it must have been very hard to go last night, especially at 10PM after a long day. Thank you for honoring the victims with your presence and for enabling us to get an introduction to this episode in the history and remembrance of 9/11. Hugs.

Thanks so much for sharing these photos and honoring the victims and their families. Such tragedy makes me want to live an authentic life daily and realize what is important in life.
