On August 1st of this past summer, Hyatt and Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SLH) announced a strategic loyalty alliance. (see, Soon you will be Able to Redeem your Hyatt Points for Stays at SLH hotels!). I haven’t heard much about this alliance recently, so I’m guessing it is in the works.
In the meantime, you can get elite status at SLH through a Mastercard promotion. SLH’s loyalty program is called INVITED. It is a 3-tier loyalty program. Through the Mastercard promotion, get INSPIRED (second tier) status for a limited time – which will entitle you to some pretty good perks, such as Member exclusive rates, complimentary breakfast, room upgrades and much more.

INSPIRED BENEFITS:
- Member Exclusive Rate
- Early Check-In (Noon, based upon availability at booking and check in)
- Late Check Out (3pm, based on availability at check in)
- Free Wi-Fi
- Daily complimentary breakfast for two
- Member Exclusive Promotions
- Birthday Gift
- Room Upgrade (one category at check in if available)
FOR HOW LONG? WHAT’S THE CATCH?
The offer is for stays through December 31, 2018. Other terms and conditions are as follows:
INVITED Membership Level: Upon registering you will auto enroll onto Tier 2 Inspired: 2/5 qualifying stays through the SLH reservation channels within a 12 month period. You are required to complete one qualifying reservation within your tier year to maintain Inspired status after 12 months. Registering as a member: A Member can join Invited by registering online at slh.com, via Facebook and via Google Plus by providing SLH with their contact details and a personal profile to allow SLH to give the Member a personalized service
I do have a few questions that I have not yet been able to resolve, such as: must the required qualifying stay be completed by December 31, 2018, or does the enrollee have one year to complete the obligatory stay, provided s/he signs up for the promo by December 31, 2018?
Of course, there is the further question about how the alliance between SLH and World of Hyatt will work, but that remains to be seen.
Be that as it may, this looks like a nice promotion if it works for you either because you plan a stay at an SLH hotel (I’m told that they have some beautiful hotels) or because you want to parlay elite status with another hotel group.
