In July, at the Expo for the San Francisco Marathon, I noticed the table with the banner “RUNNERBOX.” I spoke with the company rep, and I liked what I saw and heard. I gladly agreed to accept and review a Runnerbox (I did not pay for the product). The Runnerbox that I am reviewing here is the July version.
I love samples and I love trying out new stuff! I also enjoy attending events where I see new products and receive items to sample. It’s a bit like Christmas for me. So, you can only imagine the thrill I felt when I received and opened the Runnerbox. I looked at the packaging and the contents, and I said hey, these people aren’t kidding ~ this is good stuff!
Runnerbox offers boxes for both Runners and Triathletes – with a choice of a bimonthly subscription box, or a one-time box (called a gift box – though the gift could certainly be to yourself!). There is also a gluten-free box. All are priced at $20, which seems to be a great bargain considering the content in the boxes and the price of sport-related health and nutrition products.
The July Runnerbox was chock full of great products: some that I already know and love (such as Nuun and Stinger), and others that I was first introduced to by Runnerbox, and like a great deal (such as Island Boost).

Island Boost caught my attention. I loved it. Its a like a gel, but liquid. It tastes good, goes down easy, and absorbs into the system so much better than gels. Damn good fuel. I want more!!

There were also some great non-food items in the July Runnerbox, such as Run-Guard, an anti-chafing product:
ShowerPill Athletic Bodywipe – I haven’ t tried this product yet, but I’m sure that when I do use it, someone will be grateful!

And, I know I’ll be able to use this Leg Cramp medicine!!
The box was great and, to me, it’s worth a lot more than $20!

Wonder if they are able to customize boxes for folks with food allergies? I would love to get a surprise pack of goodies like this, but am unable to have caffeine or chocolate, so I’m guessing I wouldn’t be able to use some of the stuff in a standard box… Looks like fun, though!
they do have a gluten-free box, but maybe they’ll develop a caffeine free variety too. good suggestion.
