This is a review of the fitness center at the Grand Hyatt Playa del Carmen Resort in Mexico. You can read my review of the hotel HERE. As you can see, I loved the hotel.
But did I love the fitness center just as much? Yes, I did!
I’ll preface this by saying that, no matter how fabulous a hotel gym is, I still try, when possible to run outdoors. In Mexico, that meant running in sizzling hot temperatures (which I didn’t really mind, as I like warm weather), such as around this track.
I also enjoyed running on non-touristy streets where I saw thatched homes (palapas) and plenty of street art.
And the Grand Hyatt has free bicycle rentals, which was just fine for Dave (aka Won’t Run)!
Sometimes the weather or the local terrain are not conducive to outdoor running or cycling, or, as is more often the case … I woke up late and breakfast ends in an hour. And that’s when gym time is crucial!!
Here’s the entrance to the Gimnasio (the gym for all us Gringos)!
The fitness center is expansive and gorgeous. The room is large and clean, the machines are plentiful and state of the art. Plus there’s great lighting and mirrors, and even windows.
There’s a separate studio room. You can stretch or work out solo here or take a class.
And there were inspirational decorations too:
And, of course, outside there is the ocean and plenty of infinity pools that are simply out of this world!
Yes, I loved the fitness center as much as I loved everything else about the hotel!!
