The Mystery Box

I arrived home from my trip to South America late Sunday evening. I had a great time (well, except for the bad cold that arrived just in time for the flight – and you know how painful it is to fly when you have a cold – and the crying baby in the row directly behind us) (more on my trip to follow soon).  My doorman handed me a large box – the label indicated it was from IHG.  I was curious.  Perhaps it was another gift following the fabulous event at the James Beard House? Or perhaps IHG had decided to elevate my status? (wishful thinking).

I opened the box, and inside was another box and an envelope with my name on it.

I was excited!  What could it be? Inside the box, was a very nice, high quality journal.  The cover was embossed with the Share Forever and IHG emblems.

And here’s the letter:

We regret that you were unable to join us for dinner at the James Beard House….?  Thanks IHG, but I did attend the dinner at the James Beard House and I loved it! I would gladly return there or to other exclusive Rewards Club Member events a thousand times!
