I just received an email from Hyatt announcing a new promotion on the Chase Hyatt Visa card.
Here’s how it goes. . .
The heading says this “Reward yourself with up to 4,000 extra Bonus Points.”
4,000 points is not a ton of points, but I’ll take it. But then I read on. It says:
Shop with your Hyatt Credit Card and earn 500 extra Bonus Points after you make a purchase of at least $1,000 from January 15, 2018 to March 31, 2018. You can earn 500 extra Bonus Points on up to 8 eligible purchases, for a total of up to 4,000 extra Bonus Points.1 This is in addition to the Bonus Points you always earn with your card!
So, in other words, provided you spend at least $1,000, you can earn a bonus HALF-OF-ONE-POINT per dollar spend with the Chase Hyatt Visa card, up to a maximum of $8,000 spend for which you’ll earn 4,000 points. Stated otherwise, for the next $8,000 you spend within the promotion period, you’ll earn a minimum of 1.5 World of Hyatt points per dollar instead of a minimum of 1 point per dollar.
But wait! It gets worse. Each expenditure must be of a minimum of $1,000 to get the 500 points. Gack.
You must register by March 31, 2018 – Here is the REGISTRATION LINK.
I am not excited by this promotion, but will register anyway. I am not sure if this is a targeted offer or not.
What do you think of this promotion?
