Two Must-See Exhibits in Washington, D.C.

The Art and Ideals: John F. Kennedy exhibit at the Kennedy Center and the Entertainment Nation exhibit at the National Museum of American History are each phenomenal new exhibits to visit in Washington, D.C.

Yesterday, I published a review of the Park Hyatt Washington D.C. Though the weekend was short, I spent a lot of time walking around. Washington, D.C. is a wonderful city for walking, and I am always delighted to stroll through neighborhoods such as Georgetown and also visit the traditional destinations of my country’s capital.

There’s always a lot to see and do in Washington, D.C. and I’m certainly not an expert on Washington D.C. sightseeing, but there are two wonderful exhibits that I visited which I thoroughly enjoyed and highly recommend.

Entertainment Nation exhibit at the National Museum of American History.

The Entertainment Nation exhibit at the National Museum of American History was such a treat. Regardless of your age, it is like a walk down memory lane! It begins with the Ruby slippers and moves on to Star Wars, Sesame Street, All in the Family and even Howdy Doody! There are memories for everyone of all ages. And the entire exhibit is in English and Spanish.

ART AND IDEALS: PRESIDENT JOHN F. KENNEDY

Art and Ideals: President John F. Kennedy is a new permanent exhibit located on the top floor of the Kennedy Center.

I’ve never been to the Kennedy Center before – I’ve only seen it on TV. So when I was out wandering in D.C. one day and I saw it, I decided to go inside. Wow, it is a very impressive place.

I took the elevator to the top floor and entered the Art and Ideals: JFK exhibit which is described as an immersive exhibit [that] uses the latest in digital technology to explore how the arts infused and informed the Kennedy presidency. It was extremely detailed and informative as well as enjoyable and moving. I highly recommend a visit.
