Earlier today, Hyatt and Chase launched the new Hyatt Business credit card. (see, Hyatt Business Credit Card Launches Today)
One of the benefits of the card that was highlighted in the press release and at the launch presentation I attended was the fact that if you spend $50,000 or more on the card in a calendar year, you will receive 10% of the redeemed points back as Bonus Points for the remainder of the calendar year.
Hyatt has informed me that there is a clarification to this benefit. Specifically, I’m now told that the Bonus Points rebate benefit is not unlimited, but is instead capped – – the amount of Bonus Points you can earn with the 10% rebate is a maximum of 20,000 points per calendar year.
In my opinion, this dilutes the value of the card somewhat given the fact that this rebate benefit doesn’t even kick in until the cardmember spends a minimum of $50,000 on the card, What do you think?

The benefit only runs through the end of the year in which you’ve hit the $50K in spend, so this card truly is a dud!
