Was There a Lizard in his Lunch?

Is that a lizard in my tray or are you just happy to see me?

Coffee, tea or lizard?

Waiter, there’s a fly…. I mean lizard… in my lunch.

Bad puns, yes, but appropos?  Perhaps.

According to India Today and other news sources, on Thursday, a passenger on a Boeing Dreamliner AirIndia flight from Delhi to London reported seeing a lizard in his lunch.  He claims a baby lizard was stuck beneath the bread he was served.  He posted this photo of a lizard in his meal tray on Twitter, which predictably went viral on social media!

Air India vehemently denies the story, calling it fabricated and a hoax. In fact, they say it never even happened.  (See, this article in The Indian Express).

This story has reached reptilian proportions.  So, was there a lizard in his lunch or wasn’t there?
