A few years ago, I watched my first Wingsuit youtube – I was mesmerized by men soaring through the air as if they were themselves planes. I couldn’t believe it. I had to watch it again and again gaping in fascination. Others I know have had similar reactions to this extreme sport.
Three of the world’s most renowned BASE jumpers, Jokke Sommer, Espen Fadnes and Ludovic Woerth embarked on an adventure around the world seeking out unique and challenging places to wingsuit proximity flying and BASE jumping.
* BASE Jumping is parachuting from a fixed structure or cliff. “B.A.S.E is an acronym that stands fro the four categories of fixed objects from which one can jump: Building, Antenna, Span, and Earth (Cliff). Wingsuit flying is the sport of flying a specially designed suit which adds surface to the human body. Proximity flying techniques is to fly close to the faces and ridges of mountains.
XTreme Video and Vimeo on Demand are releasing “Wingmen”, a documentary depicting the highs and the lows of the extreme sport of BASE Jumping, and Wingsuit flying. The high-definition film is 52 mins long.

The world premier of Wingmen will take place this week in London and Paris. It will be shown in other cities as well.
