I recently posted that I was planning to run the Pittsburgh Marathon and that I was chosen as an official Blogger for the event (see, Pittsburgh Marathon Official Blogger #GameOnPGH). Well, time sure flies, and the marathon is four weeks from today! The countdown begins! Are you ready? Are you psyched?
Have you looked at the website recently? Registration is still open, and the weekend is more than just a marathon – there’s also a kid’s run, a pet walk, a 5K and a half marathon. It’s not too late to join in!
How’s your training going? Mine has been less than perfect. I’ve cut back on running, canceled a few races, and have gone to Physical Therapy trying to knock out some annoying injuries. But, I shall persevere, and make the best of everything, even if I walk. My new motto is Embrace the Slow! So, if you’re a less than fast runner, I’ll have a few minutes, or rather, a few hours, to chat with you along the course.
Here’s my one piece of advice: whether this is your first marathon or your 110th marathon (like me), the one thing you should NOT be is scared. This event is something you’ve looked forward to for months. Enjoy it. Enjoy the runners. Enjoy the scenery. Enjoy the spectators. Take it all in because, believe it or not, it goes quickly.
Are your travel plans made? Your hotels booked?
Are you PSYCHED? By now you know the motto: #GAMEONPGH!
And, have you visited the Blogger Page? I’m the little picture at the bottom. Here are the links for each of the official bloggers:
