People sometimes ridicule me for carrying my iPhone with me when I run, but here’s a new one to me: carrying a gun to go running, and not even in Central Park!
According to this news report from NBC10.com, a woman in the Philadelphia vicinity is claiming that she lost her gun while jogging!
Police are issuing a warning to two Montgomery County towns after a woman claims she lost her gun while jogging.
According to the Abington Township Police Department, the woman told them she lost her gun on January 30 while jogging in the Ardsley and North Hills sections of both Upper Dublin and Abington Townships.
Abington and Upper Dublin officers, along with police K-9 and metal detectors, conducted an extensive search of each block along the reported route (northbound on Fitzwatertown Rd to Susquehanna Rd; eastbound on Susquehanna Rd to Maple Ave.; southbound on Maple Ave to Limekiln Pike; southbound on Limekiln Pike back to Fitzwatertown Rd).
A secondary search of the area by Abington officers on Monday yielded no weapon as well.
Police did not immediately identify what kind of gun the woman claims she lost.
I don’t know about you, but I’m a bit skeptical about this story. If I were the police, I’d check for bodies in her basement.

I think it’s really careless for her to lose her gun. It would be like losing your phone or ipod while running. That being said I do run sometimes with a small handgun (not like the giant one in your blog photo). Usually for protection in rural areas from animals but also in higher crime areas as needed. I hate taking since it’s heavy. I’m a man so I would assume more women runners are armed than men on average.

interesting. maybe they should design a running holster?
