What a week it was for the W Hotels in New York City. For each of three nights in a row, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, there was an opening of another art exhibit or artist in residence installation. I had the honor of attending all three nights – I enjoyed seeing the art and interacting with the artists as well as the many others responsible for orchestrating these events.
Wednesday – W New York — Union Square – CLOSER – an aerial photo exhibit by Dinesh Boaz
The Closer exhibit by visiting artist Dinesh Boaz includes a series of aerial photos (boldly taken from doorless helicopters) capturing the calm of even the most hectic places. The opening reception was well attended – the art was fascinating – I looked into each aerial photo and wanted to know the story of each person in the photo.
Dates: November 8, 2017 – February 1, 2018
THURSDAY – W New York – Times Square – Suite Dreams Private Art Suites featuring digital collage art by Maxwell Burnstein
Two Suite Dreams Art Suites at the W New York Times Square have been transformed into a gallery of sparkling fashion-inspired works by digital collage artist Maxwell Burnstein. The cutting-edge artwork is handmade using traditional analog technologies.
